Insight - Kain Pelikat originated from the Palaiyakat (Palayakadu) locality of Tamil Nadu, India. Over the years of 1528-1538, Kain Pelikat was traded in Malacca and adapted into the Malaysian culture, primarily worn by the Malays and Indians as Sarong (a casual hand tie skirt) as home wear until today.
